Activation codes, device activations, and what the Commercial Beta plan covers.
Signing in
OrbitLab uses an account plus an activation code. Create the account in the app, verify your email address, then enter the activation code you were issued.
The activation code determines your plan, including how many research projects you can have. Your plan card in the app shows exactly what is counted against that limit.
Device activations
An activation code can be used on a limited number of devices. Each installation that signs in registers as one device activation.
If you have replaced a machine and run out of activations, contact support and the old activation can be released.
Renewals and extensions
From 0.1.4-beta onwards, a renewal or extension applied to your subscription is recognised by the app immediately — you do not need to sign out and back in for it to take effect.
Working offline
Statistical computation is local and does not need a connection. Sign-in, AI-assisted steps such as building an extraction sheet from a sample, and update checks do.
