Before you install
The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen shows a warning. Choose More info → Run anyway, and verify the SHA-256 above if you want certainty about the file.
Builds older than 0.1.6-beta are prompted to update on launch. Archived builds are provided for reference and reproducibility.
Once installed, OrbitLab updates itself — you only need to download from here once.

OrbitLab 0.1.7-beta. Data Extraction no longer reports conflicts that cannot be cleared. When your research plan names a variable that is already in your extraction sheet - for example a bedtime or sleep duration question saved under a short name - it is now recognised instead of being listed as missing, so Validate Sheet and Resolve Conflicts can be completed and your statistics can run. Across the app, keyboard focus is now clearly visible, status colours and small text are easier to read, headings and report previews use consistent typography, and the Account page and the signup notice now show only real, accurate information. Your local research projects always remain on this device.

OrbitLab 0.1.6-beta. Arabic and other non-English text now export correctly: Word documents render Arabic with the right font and reading direction, and PDF export no longer replaces text it cannot draw with question marks - it tells you first and offers Word instead. Accented European names such as Muller and Franca also export correctly now. If you collected fewer participants than your proposal planned, your analysis is no longer blocked: it is reported as a limitation to mention in your write-up, and the target sample size is now editable and is no longer overwritten when you validate your sheet. Charts Studio and Literature Search are now open in beta: publication-quality figures from your saved results, and one search across PubMed, OpenAlex, Crossref and Semantic Scholar with duplicates merged. Both are still being improved, so please report anything that looks wrong. Your local research projects always remain on this device.
- OrbitLab 0.1.5-beta · 2 months ago
OrbitLab 0.1.5-beta. Importing a data sample is now more reliable: wide spreadsheets with many columns build your extraction sheet correctly instead of occasionally failing to read the AI response, and a cut-off response is recovered gracefully. Charts Studio and Literature Search are on the way and appear marked as coming soon in the sidebar, arriving in an upcoming update. Your local research projects always remain on this device.
- OrbitLab 0.1.4-beta · 2 months ago
OrbitLab 0.1.4-beta. Data import is more reliable: spreadsheets saved with semicolons or tabs now open correctly, files with unusual line endings no longer come through empty, numbers written with thousands separators are flagged instead of being misread, and missing values are counted the same way everywhere. Scrolling is smoother and easier to control throughout the app, with a larger scrollbar and laptop trackpad support. Subscription renewals and extensions are now recognised immediately without signing out. AI messages explain clearly when a request was too large instead of reporting an empty response. Your local research projects always remain on this device.
- OrbitLab 0.1.3-beta · 2 months ago
OrbitLab 0.1.3-beta. More reliable data import: spreadsheets that use semicolons or unusual line endings now load correctly, numbers written with thousands separators are flagged instead of being misread, and missing values are counted consistently everywhere. Scrolling is smoother and easier to control throughout the app, with a larger scrollbar and trackpad support. AI messages now explain clearly when a request was too large instead of reporting an empty response. Your local research projects always remain on this device.
